Kim Kardashian’s Vanity Fair Oscars Dress Is Accidental Nod to Her Kris Humphries Wedding

Kim Kardashian is not keeping up with her engagement ring from ex Kris Humphries anymore.

The reality star got candid on her short-lived marriage to the former NBA player, alleging that she “had to” surrender her 18-carat emerald-cut diamond ring as part of their 2013 divorce settlement.

“I didn’t keep that,” Kim shared during the March 13 episode of The Kardashians, explaining how she was still legally married to Kris—whom she split from in October 2011 after 72 days of marriage—when she became pregnant with her and Kanye West‘s oldest daughter North West. “In order to divorce him, he said I had to give him the ring.”

The 44-year-old went on to allege that she paid for the ring, while Kris “contributed a fifth” of its cost during their relationship.

Although Lorraine Schwartz—who designed the ring—told Kim that she had made the “best” decision at the time, the SKIMS founder admitted she still had some lingering ire over the ordeal. As she noted, “I would’ve loved a collection.”
